As part of activities marking the European Year for Development 2015, the European Union in Ghana together with the Embassies of France and Norway, the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) and the Environment Protection Agency (EPA), have, jointly launched a National Schools Drawing Contest in Ghana for Schools in all the regions to encourage a national discussion on climate change on 8 September 2015.
The contest are in three categories: 1) Primary school – Observations of climate change; 2) Junior high school – Impacts of climate change, and 3) Senior High School – Solutions – measures to reduce the impacts. Three prizes will be given out to each category so that in total nine schools will be declared winners and invited to the awarding ceremony. Selected drawings will be printed in a leaflet to be distributed during the side event of the ‘Ghana Day’ during the Climate conference
The best drawings will be selected by a jury to be composed of representatives from the EU in Ghana, all Partners and stakeholders from the Embassies, EPA, MESTI; and the Ministry of Education. An evaluation sheet will be provided to facilitate the selection of the winners and ensure transparency in the process.
