Deutsche Welle TV journalists were in Accra on August 1st and 2nd to film the activities of Hipsters of Nature in their TV programme, ‘Africa on the move’. Africa on the Move is a new multimedia series documenting the lives of amazing young Africans. The programme focuses on the change makers – role models who use their energy and skills to lift up their communities and their continent.http://www.dw.com/en/africa-on-the-move-dws-new-multimedia-series-for-africa/a-18584018. DW- TV reporters filmed our recycled fashion show with students of Mrs. Edu Sam’s school, Nima at their graduation. The students were empowered to creatively design costumes from waste such as paper, plastic bottles and bags after which they modelled and danced as their teachers, friends and parents watched their performance. “Africa on the Move” television reports will be broadcasted in English, Kiswahili, Hausa, French and Portuguese.
Members of Hipsters of Nature were interviewed about their motivation for being part of the group and on-going projects.
DW will present the video in its six radio programs for Africa and through social media.
